Kent County Traffic Squad

The Kent County Traffic Squad functions under the auspices of the Sheriff of Kent County, Larry Stelma.

The intent and focus of the Traffic Squad is:

1. To offer an opportunity for civilians who have an interest in law enforcement to be of service to their community.
   
2. To provide trained personnel to assist the Kent County Sheriff's Department on weekends, holidays and times when a second law enforcement individual is necessary in a patrol unit.
   
3. To make available trained manpower to assist all law enforcement agencies in Kent County when additional enforcement personnel are required for emergencies, disasters, high security or special events.

The Traffic Squad is continually recruiting qualified men and women who have a strong interest in serving their community through law enforcement and are able to meet the high standards required of a member of the law enforcement community.
